Welcome to the Most Beautiful Castle in the South
Built in the C17th, this magnificent building is steeped in history. Originally built as a hunting lodge to entertain aristocracy聽and royalty, it was for centuries the family seat of the Weld family, the current owners of the Lulworth Estate. Ravaged by fire in 1929, it has been partly聽restored in a pioneering聽partnership with English Heritage.
Climb the tower for spectacular panoramic聽views of the Purbeck countryside and聽towards the Jurassic Coast. Visit the C18th聽Roman Catholic Chapel and the C15th聽Church of St Andrew.
With extensive parkland, woodland walks,聽a children’s playground, the spacious聽grounds are yours to enjoy, walk the聽dog (please keep dogs on leads) or enjoy a picnic. The Castle Tearoom is a great spot to enjoy delicious homemade cakes, cream teas and to buy a souvenir of your visit.
Pay &聽Display parking gives access to聽the park and grounds, with a separate聽admission charge for the Castle (children聽under 4 free).
The Castle is open daily Sunday – Friday (closed Saturdays and occasionally on other days) between 10.30am and 5pm (10.30 – 4pm winter times). Last entry one hour before closing.聽
